I’m proud to be the Creative Director of DG Unlimited. I started working with the Board and team in 2019 as the charity’s Creative Producer and am thrilled to be continuing my work with the whole team to take the organisation into the future. My focus is on supporting the creative sector in this region. Dumfries and Galloway has been my home of over forty years and I have been working in and serving the third sector and public sector for over thirty years. My career to date includes management and senior executive roles in Community and Economic Development for Dumfries and Galloway Council, VisitScotland, The Southern Upland Partnership, Scottish Borders Council, and various third and private sector charities in the UK, Australia, and Europe, and as a freelance radio journalist for BBC Scotland.
I am a Writer, Radio Broadcast Journalist, and Film Producer of art, feature, and documentary film. And I am also proud to be a Trustee and Secretary for Alchemy Film & Arts in Hawick, the Scottish Borders.
I’m passionate about widening access to the arts for all, especially for underrepresented people. Not only members of ethnic minority and LGBTQ+ communities, but those who are economically, geographically, and socially excluded. It is extremely important to me that my work, and in turn the work of DG Unlimited, helps break down the barriers preventing people from experiencing and participating in arts and culture. I’m proud to be leading DG Unlimited into the next phase of its work supporting and advocating for the creative sector in our region and in Scotland and beyond.
