For the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Partnership
DG Unlimited, on behalf of the partners of the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural
Partnership is proud to announce an exciting new cultural sector opportunity.
Applications are now invited from individuals with the right skills and experience to
serve as a freelance Coordinator for the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural
Partnership.
The freelance Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the Partnership’s
development and delivery of our region’s Cultural Strategy.
Contract Commission is: 3 days per week, up to a maximum of 144 days, paid each
calendar month. The contract is for one year/12 months from the commencement of
the commission. Fees are £150 per day (8-hour day).
The key elements of the role are:
To assist the Chair and the founding members of the Cultural Partnership to
organise the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Partnership. Attendance at DG
Cultural Partnership meetings, follow up and development meetings with the
Chair and partners as required.
To assist the partners and any commissioned parties to coordinate events and
workshops, on behalf of the Chair and the Cultural Partnership.
To ensure effective communication between all members involved in the
Cultural Partnership and encourage and support them to contribute to the
delivery of the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Strategy.
To assist the partnership with the facilitation of the planned Thematic Groups
which will be operating within the DG Cultural Partnership.
To assist the Cultural Partnership, and any commissioned parties, to provide
external communications on behalf of the DG Cultural Partnership partners and
in full partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council communications.
Key Milestones
On behalf of the Chair: Schedule at least four meetings of the DG Cultural
Partnership to take place over a twelve-month period.
On behalf of the Cultural Partnership: Successfully establish a series of pre-agreed Thematic Groups to feed into, contribute to, and work with the Cultural Partnership.
Background
The Cultural Partnership’s remit is principally to activate, facilitate, coordinate and
support a broad range of activity over the duration of the Cultural Strategy. A Delivery
Plan for 2024/25 is in development which will include the contribution of the
Cultural Partnership.
It is expected that there will be quarterly meetings of the Cultural Partnership each
year; and there will be a requirement to give an update report on the Chair’s
activities at each meeting. There will also be an Annual Report to the Community
Planning Partnership in November/December.
Hosting
DG Unlimited is hosting the Cultural Partnership posts in support of, and as part of
its work for Dumfries and Galloway Council and the DG Cultural Partnership. The DG
Unlimited Creative Director will be managing the HR aspects of this role.
