Do you have what it takes to help shape the future of Dumfries & Galloway’s vibrant creative sector?
We’re looking for three passionate individuals to join our voluntary Board of Trustees and champion the success of over 650 local creative practitioners, collectives and community organisations who make Dumfries and Galloway’s creative and cultural sector.
Who We Are
The Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of the Arts, DG Unlimited, strategically represents the creative sector in Dumfries and Galloway. We are a membership-led organisation dedicated to supporting creative and cultural individuals and organisations across Dumfries & Galloway. We advocate for their needs, foster openness, connection and collaboration, and provide development, commission, and funding opportunities, and importantly, we also showcase the creative and cultural sector in Dumfries and Galloway and to audiences in the South of Scotland and beyond.
Vision
Dumfries and Galloway’s creative sector is strong, innovative, accessible to all creative minds and is valued by all.
mission
Our mission is to provide our creative membership working across the whole of Dumfries and Galloway with purposeful and targeted advocacy, networking, and creative professional development support to sustain and nurture their creative practices and organisations.
Our Values
We put people first and lead by example – by fostering a welcoming inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. We are committed to reflecting the diversity and creativity of the communities we serve.
We champion excellence and best practice – by celebrating the successes of our creative membership, and striving for best practice in how we work, and in what we deliver, with and for our members and partners.
We value transparency, fairness and honesty – in our governance and decision-making, in our communications with all our members and in our relationships with stakeholders and community organisations.
We are agile and responsive – using creativity, new technology, innovation and collaborative approaches to bring fresh creative approaches to established methods.
We are responsible for our environment – prioritising its care and sustainability in all our planning and delivery.

- Equal opportunities commitment: Upholding equal opportunities and fair practice is important to us. We welcome all, regardless of location, identity, ethnicity, ability, or gender. We do not recruit on the basis of socio-economic background, but on merit and demonstrable experience.

- Time commitment: Attend bi-monthly online or in person board meetings (6-8pm Mondays), attend an AGM in D&G, one annual conference in D&G, occasional attendance at events in Scotland, plus occasional media appearances or interviews, and any additional scheduled Board or management meetings that may be required.
