Researchers at the University of Glasgow are inviting people across Scotland to share their experiences of climate change through creative writing.
Scotland’s Climate Stories Project is calling for short pieces of creative writing, up to 1,000 words, exploring thoughts and feelings about climate change. The project aims to better understand how climate change impacts emotional wellbeing, and how storytelling can help shape more informed and empathetic climate action.
Selected submissions will feature in:
- A published anthology
- Research reports
- Public exhibitions
Alongside the call for submissions, a series of creative writing workshops will run in Glasgow, Edinburgh and online, offering space for reflection, connection and creative exploration.
This is an opportunity for writers, creatives, students, community members and anyone with something to say about climate change to contribute to a growing national conversation.
🗓 Submissions are open until 28 February 2026
