CULTURAL STRATEGIES AND REPORTS
You can find a number of Scottish and UK strategies for the Arts and Cultural sector on this page. They are available to download free of charge. You do not need to be a Member of DG unlimited to access this information.
Cultural strategies are designed to help us direct and align our activities and plans to address key strategic priorities in this region, Scotland and beyond. We share a selection of them here to help creatives who are developing their own funding bids and proposals. It can be a time consuming and at times difficult process to navigate! By outlining what is prioritised during decision making and providing examples of what policy makers have deemed to be important or successful executions of culturally focused projects, cultural strategies can provide creatives with valuable insight. Specific wording or turns of phrase that funders are looking for, best practices, and outcomes a successful project might prioritise are all elements highlighted in cultural strategies like the one below. By being aware of what funders are looking for, creatives can improve their chances of success with applications. If you need some help and advice about your funding applications and project development, please join as a member and get in touch with us! We offer a range of strictly confidential advice and signposting services to help creatives develop their projects.
We will keep adding strategies and plans to this page as a growing resource for you.

Strategy documents can also be devised by individual organisations, alone or in partnership with larger governing bodies. If you’re sending an application or proposal to a creative organisation, it can be useful to see if they have any strategic documentation available to the public – or to applicants. You can see the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Strategy’s Ambitions and Objectives summarised by DG Unlimited below. And you can read more about the Dumfries and Galloway Cultural Partnership for our region here.
