Performance Collective Stranraer (PCS) has relaunched under a new name: Performance Collective Scotland.
Since its formation in 2017, the company has grown far beyond its Stranraer roots, developing an ever-widening pool of collaborators and supporting theatre artists from across rural Scotland. The new name marks this exciting expansion while continuing to celebrate the company’s base in Dumfries & Galloway.
PCS Artistic Director Sarah Rose Graber said:
“I’m thrilled to be ushering Performance Collective Scotland into a new era as we embrace our new name. The change better tells our story as we’ve expanded our ensemble to support more artists from rural backgrounds while still being based in beautiful Dumfries & Galloway. We’ll continue to nurture young, emerging talent, but in addition to residential labs, workshops, mentoring and community events, we’ll be producing more performance work from our collective to share across the region and beyond.”
At the heart of PCS’ vision is a commitment to ensuring that rural artists are not left behind. By building creative connections outside urban centres, the company supports young artists to thrive and take their place within Scotland’s professional performing arts world.
As PCS embarks on this next chapter, it is inviting:
- Emerging theatre artists (aged 16–30) across Scotland to join the PCS ensemble. For details, email Artistic Director Sarah Rose Graber at sarahrose@performancecollectivescotland.com.
- Funders, venues, and cultural partners to collaborate and strengthen rural creative infrastructure.
- Audiences and communities to take part in upcoming performances, workshops, and events designed to showcase and celebrate rural talent.
The relaunch celebrations will take place on Sunday 23 November at The Stove Café in Dumfries, where PCS will welcome new and existing members and share its exciting plans for expanded programmes and future projects.
