Network Events
We hold regular events where our members can meet and brew up their ideas into creative wonderment.
Lunar Symposium
DG Unlimited is working with the Open University, Dumfries team and partners to develop a creative digital record of the upcoming Lunar Symposium which will be shared with all partners including the European Space Agency and NASA. This is an example of how DG Unlimited can develop creative opportunities for its members, outside the sector.
ProjectS
Alongside highlighting the wide range of activities and events hosted by our members, DG Unlimited supports projects on a variety of scales. We’re proud to assist coordination and execution of creative pursuits across the region, from major Scottish Government commissions like Remembering Together, to training and mentorship programmes like Creatives Unlimited.
Remembering Together
Remembering Together: Dumfries and Galloway is part of Scotland’s COVID Community Memorial Programme. DG Unlimited and Dumfries and Galloway Council, in partnership with greenspace scotland have appointed artists t s Beall and Katie Anderson to deliver the region’s contribution to ‘Remembering Together’ a national project that seeks to provide each of Scotland’s 32 local authorities the chance to reflect on their unique experience of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Over the past two years, the artists have been working with communities across the region to establish The Dispersed Memorial Forest, a memorial composed of over four hundred trees across five sites: Castle Douglas, Dumfries, Moffat, Sanquhar and Stranraer.
The next Dispersed Memorial Forest gathering and launch event takes place on Friday 14th June at Bell Crescent Park in Sanquhar, from 11am to 2pm. All are welcome to come along and see the newly finished marker identifying the project, and wonderful new seating for the park created by craftsman Phil Daube. Read more here.
