“Galloway is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to writing, a kingdom in miniature, crammed with waterfalls, forests, starry skies and deserted beaches. We have an astonishing depth and breadth of culture and heritage too, with magical stone circles thousands of years old, ruined castles, and a diversity of wee towns and villages, all with their own distinct characters and idiosyncrasies. You might think with all of this as inspiration, books would write themselves, and they probably would – if I didn’t have an Olympic medal in procrastination.”
